Desperta Fashion Shows 2009

Thanks to everyone who has supported Desperta in it's infancy! During the Spring and Summer of 2009 we have been blessed with two great fashion shows thanks to the support of IamMoody and Runway Icon.

We were first featured in May 2009 for the premier opening of 7 Sushi Spring Rooftop Opening party which was hosted by Richard Moody of IamMoody management team and showcased local fashions by Desperta and Belle Reeve Boutique.

Our early Fall 2009 show "Allure" hosted by Runway Icon showcased Desperta, VS Social Standard and other local designers and boutiques. Both fashion shows were a blast and we look forward to our next show in 2010!

Thanks to all the models how worked the runway and all the other "worker bees" who do not get recognized for their hard work and efforts in creating successful shows and help maintain a vibrant local fashion scene here in the Twin Cities!

Last but not least I would like to thank God for the blessings and the Eternal Love!

Desperta Announces Partnership with MIFN

Desperta Arte & Clothing is now supporting The Minnesota Immigrant Freedom Network (MIFN).

MIFN The Minnesota Immigrant Freedom Network (MIFN) is a statewide immigrant leadership group that works to improve the lives of immigrants, their children, and the broader community. The MIFN believes education is a human right and organizes with Latino and
immigrant youth to make education affordable for all, regardless of citizenship status. They also implement Immigrant Leadership Schools in greater Minnesota in order to develop better relationships between newcomers and native born residents. They work to humanize the face of immigration in the media by helping the media to abolish the usage of the term "illegal immigrant." As a network, they seek to walk the path of justice with immigrant peoples, rejecting the notion that any group can own a community. They work hand in hand with anyone from any group who is willing to come together to build a healthier more sustainable Minnesota.
